Jack Daniel, Attorney, California Rural Legal Assistance

Mr. Daniel works with community groups and individuals specializing in civil 
rights, education and fair housing law. He has represented students receiving 
inadequate translation and interpretation services; brought lawsuits alleging 
discrimination in the identification of youth as gang members and involving 
expulsions of African American boys.

Leslie Gross Davis, Advocacy Director, Mississippi Center for Justice

The Mississippi Center for Justice is a public interest law firm committed to 
advancing racial and economic justice. Ms. Gross Davis directs the Center's 
work pursuing systemic advocacy strategies to combat discrimination and poverty 
in Mississippi.

Camille Holmes, Co-Director, Project for the Future of Equal Justice, Center 
for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) & NLADA

Ms. Holmes coordinates the Civil Rights and Racial Justice Initiative (CRRJI), 
a new effort of the Project to promote effective collaborations among legal 
services organizations and civil rights and racial justice organizations.

Sarah Krakoff, Associate Professor, University of Colorado School of Law

Professor Krakoff is a past director of CU Law School's Indian Law Clinic, 
supervising students in legal representation of Native Americans throughout the 
country on significant Indian law, civil rights, and environmental issues. 
Prof. Krakoff has litigated class action discrimination cases in federal court 
on behalf of Native school children.

Damon T. Hewitt, Assistant Counsel, NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund

Mr. Hewitt began his work at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF) 
as a Skadden Public Interest Fellow, working to ensure children at risk for 
suspension or expulsion and children referred to juvenile authorities, continue 
to receive the educational services to which they are entitled.

$100 for Legal Services Staff, $150 for Non-Profits/Volunteer Attys,

$200 for all others. Please note: You are responsible for your own

meals and accommodations. 

CLE Credits

13.75 hours of standard and 2 hours of elimination of bias CLE credits will be 
applied for.

Collaboration

Parents and community collaborators will be involved to share experiences and 
strategies and establish relationships that can be maintained beyond the 
conference.
