I will apologize for the error for asking why Council Memeber Benanav for the Mayor's Budget in 2005. At least it appears to have been the only error I made.

So, I'm sorry.

Out of curiosity, I visited the Saint Paul Chamber website. I was curious to discover whether or not the Chamber of Commerce Board, (who's members apparently do not pay taxes in Saint Paul), had any Saint Paul residents on it. At first glance, not personally knowing all it's members, there are actually more Saint Paul Residents on the Chamber Board than on the City Council.

I'll concede right off that the Council being the elected body is responsible for the taxing and delivery of public services etc., but to marginalize the Chamber's fact-based position, by spreading fear and trying to distributing bogus rhetoric is a disservice to the community at large.

Offline, I've been asked to respond to where I live. I live in a city, an urban city where it is expected and surely anticipated (See Met Council 2020 Plan) that automobiles, roads, trains, airplanes and other industry share our infrastructure and where residential density is expected to increase through redevelopment.

I was asked if I would like a four lane "freeway" near my home.

Well, Ayd Mill is not proposed to be a freeway, and as a matter of fact I live right near (within a block) of another 4-lane road that allows heavier vehicles than I-35E (sorry, had to mention it) or Ayd Mill Road, and my home is directly underneath a flight path that at times can bring 747's over the top of my roof. I have my share of noise that's for damn sure, and like the rest of you in Saint Paul, my property value has only increased.

Have a great weekend.

To correct Matt Anfang's mistake, Councilmember Benanav cast his vote in opposition to city's 2005 budget, because of, among other reasons, the decommissioning of Fire Engine 20 in his ward, the reduction of 14 firefighter jobs, the shortage of 40 police officers and the dangerous shortage of 911 dispatchers.
