Come on now folks, lets get real here. Yow Mr. Spaulding, everything you've said in fact points to my being correct on my original assertions. If District Councils are the realm from which the CIB committee members arise anyone with any experience with District Councils knows that a vast majoirty (when the organization i work for last did a survery, two years ago, roughly 94%) were white homeowners. Now, heres the fair and open part, since we know that at least 13% (1990 census numbers) of our neighbors in St. Paul are African American, and approximately 50% of our neighbors are tenants, than I at least feel comfortable saying, that if the CIB committee members are being chosen by the Mayor from a pool of folks that come mainly from the district council system, then it is flawed, inequitable and so unfair system and will choose to spend tax dollars on projects that they and their peers perceive as important. And as far as accepting or admitting your own privilege thats between you and your conscience.
caty, selby by way of south minneapolis.
