Well, we have seen the true state of most TV news these days. Literally take one side's press release off the fax machine, or one insider's perspective and report it as fact. Very shoddy, but sadly that's not news to me.

Yet, you see, usually the system kind of works anyway, because MOST Minnesota leaders don't fabricate lies in the press release, or tell complete lies when interviewed. Except for those associated with our Mayor, good old Randy Kelly.

Equally bad are the people around the Kelly administration who seem to be spreading this lie. This behavior is so beyond what is acceptable to me in anyone, especially a public office.

So St. Paul, what kind of leadership do you want? Do you really like political division and chicanery? Does this make you proud to call St. Paul home?

I agree with Mike and also think that the news went with what they had on the
story. Didn't he say he would like to have more time to go back and get all
sides of the issue? I am guessing that when you have little time to put 10
seconds together, it is quicker and easier to get to higher profile, well known
groups and those just happened to be for the dike. There really isn't a point
of focus for the opposition of the dike except for maybe this list. I don't
want to defend the media but i don't sense a conspiracy here.

his treatment of
St. Paul elected legislators and the threats he made regarding other
St. Paul projects in the bonding bill.

a seriously curious question. Is it simply the threats that people don't like
or that the mayor possibly used threats to push through funding for a project
many people don't like? I had always thought one of the pros to having Kelly
as mayor was his ties to the legislature and that he could call on some favors,
as politicians do, to get things for st paul that perhaps someone less
connected couldn't do. On the surface, I don't think the dike was a project to
flex that political muscle. If it were for transit funding, or money to buy
playground equipment, i would hope he would use his connections to get those
things. I guess I am hoping that it is what the threat was used for and not
that actual act of threatening that has people a little riled up. That just
hasn't been clear.
