I travel through the on at Frost and English Streets in Maplewood
almost daily. It works fine most of the time. The times it doesn't
work is when the person in front of me decides he has to stop to
wait for all the cars in the circle to pass him.

I too have had other experiences. The best were when the circles
were developed with a wide enough diameter so you actually felt like
you were driving in a segment of a circle rather then feeling like
you are avoiding something in the middle of the road.

An idea I have been advocating for years appears to be suddenly
quite
popular: The traffic circle, or roundabout:

Having grown up navigating a few in Coral Gables, I have long known
that
they are, in fact, the most efficient way of moving cars through an

intersection. They can also be made very attractive, tho they do
eat up a
lot of land.

We'll see if it catches on at all. I hope so!
