You're kind of hung up on that Christian conservative thing. From the second 
paragraph of the article:

"The Tea Party is animated by powerful enduring ideas expressed in the nation's 
founding through the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution: freedom, 
the natural law of inalienable rights and the sovereignty of the people that 
requires limited government."

That natural law part is very important, and it doesn't necessarily mean 
Christian law. So relax, and get used the Tea Partiers.
