This is a mismatch between the PPI Photoshop is expecting to display at and the 
PPI the Macbook screen is at, which are not the same.

 I just helped someone with this; her issue was that the type was too small top 
read on her new Macbook.

Tinkertool <http://www.bresink.de/osx/TinkerToolSys2.html>  this was the 
feature: 

"Get access to Mac OS X's experimental features for resolution-independent 
screen display. Enlarge screen output without reducing picture quality. (This 
feature is not available for Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.)"

I don't know if this will actually help you, but it might get you on the right 
track.

 which is a more depressing answer because it means, I'm right, and there's no
