HSUS has really put a hurt on California egg & meat production
Ohio is #2 in egg production which is fine for the midwest but I have no idea why somebody out in SOCAL would desire an Ohio egg.

I have mixed feelings about this proposed legislation:

On one hand, it would be good to have common standards to facilitate interstate
commerce -- that's the purpose of the Commerce Clause. One the other, it would
be good to allow states to have their own standards and sell the eggs within
their boundaries only.

Why do I believe that? Because the single most environmentally-friendly thing
that most people can do is to buy as much of their food locally as possible.
Besides, I'd rather buy day-old California eggs than two- or three-day old Iowa
eggs. (The opposite would be true if I lived in Iowa.)
