It's the thing I noticed about the two conferences .... the homogeny of
the Tampa crowd and the diversity of the other ...
it is also interesting that it seems to be an ideological debate between
historical stereotypes
as if the last thirty years [ which means the last 10 haven't] haven't
happened or if they have they must not be acknowledged .... the world has
changed almost beyond recognition since 1975 ... the internet ..
geopolitics ... social politics .. war on terror which enables domestic
enforcement of "we are at war" laws [ see wwII re treason etc] without
having to acknowledge it to the ordinary person instead by omission
indicate that it is still ok to go on with daily life and be woo'd by tax
cuts and be swayed by blather about other peoples private lives... that
there are no global issues that have a direct impact on everyday domestic
life that one of the reasons that the money isn't available for education
and health and tax cuts etc is because of the various economic crisises
world wide and the huge expense of the actual real "war on terror "

For instance it is "fighting season " in Afganistan ... and it looks like
the Taliban have a good score ... and it kinda looks like vietnam deja vu
all over again
some of the men the coalition are training to take over when they make
their staged retreat 2014 .. [they call them insurgents but they are
Taliban ] these men are plants and open fire when it is possible to kill
the men training them ... it is called a Green on Blue attack after the
colour of the berets ...

and of course it is a shame that the Syrian issue has come when everyone is
busy elsewhere
if ever there was a dictator that needed a swift excision ...

though they could just all move on to Syria after the huge success thats
been had rebuilding Afghanistan

so who ever is president this coming term will have all that out their
plate as well as the deficit etc etc
