being fought with one side having a unified, codified script highly divergent
from reality, and the other side a bunch of widely-differing viewpoints, mostly
shepherded via corporate-controlled media, whose scripts vary, but typically
contain at least a modicum of relationship with reality. Then there's the
indies and the bloggers, who steer, flail, and shed light, in varying degrees
of effectiveness. I seek a lot of sources, and get discouraged a lot. Do you
consider yourself to be practicing true journalism these days?

It's almost like a nation of dirty-minded neighborhood snoops, peering through
curtains while ignoring the fire in the kitchen because the tv's blaring, "Go
shopping!"

I've heard it said that the opinions and healthcare policies of the rest of the
world shouldn't have any bearing on our decisions. Yeah, cause we breathe
different air.

The same look is in the eyes of the young men coming back, that I saw in the
eyes of the Nam vets in the 70's.

Yeah, this is a really tough time to be the Decider. Hope the one we get has a
long term viewpoint.
