"inkscape doesn't like us"

Inkscape requires something called XQuartz to run in tandem with it. I
don't know the proper tech terms to describe it but if you have the latest
Mac OS installed XQuartz is required to *replace* something called X11.

I don't know what the f*** that stuff is, but that's what I did and it
works with no problem. Before I installed the latest OS on my laptop
Inkscape worked just fine with X11 alone.

I keep the icon for both XQuartz and Inkscape in the sidebar and start them
both up.

It IS worthwhile, Inkscape is a full service drawing app. I prefer
Illustrator because I know it but I have something that only uses SVG files
in Inkscape to work, so I import my files and use them there.
