I'm beating my head against a whole series of access issues on one member of a 5 cpu retail store. This is the main user on the office paperwork center for their point of sale system, POSiM. Everything crashes on this imac whenever it's connected to the server. It runs ok when disconnected from their network, but some apps will not launch, and every change to files or folders must be authenticated.
What I think has happened is that during serial upgrades, between Carbon Copy Cloner and Migration Assistant, the drive read/write permissions have been screwed. Somehow the Groups and Users membership relationships have become intertwined. I can't assign any file or folder to system as owner, via get info, or the Directory Utility. Here's one view from Directory Utility, for the Administrators Group. Yes, there are multiple admin accounts; all systems in this store are configured with all accounts needed in the store, so that any mac can be used in any capacity. It's a redundancy that allows me to bring one home to fix it without crippling the store. http://imgur.com/3KYgoyg Any suggestions? I've been trying various terminal commands, have done everything I could find to try short of Archive and Install, which is next on my list if I can't think of anything else. I've downloaded BatCHMOD and Permissions Repair, both cannot run on that system. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "StrataList-OT" group.
