Why would my camera work when held in hand but not on a tripod?
It works with the connector doohickey attached but when said
doohickey is on the tripod, the camera shuts down every time I try
to take a picture.
I am assuming that, since it's in my house, it's just in one of
those zones where nothing makes sense, but if there's a real reason
this would happen, I'm all ears.
Is the battery compartment door on the bottom? Maybe the connection
is being tweaked 'just right' when the thing is on the tripod
applying pressure to the bottom and you press the shutter button?
nice idea, kinda...
Just tried putting the mounting/connection doohickey on sideways &
still no go.
Maybe the camera just needs my tender embrace...
Have you tried a remote shutter release?

Dude, I'm lucky to have a tripod.
So, no, I do not have one.
