http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=13565 To "errors", add prefix, suffix, header, footer attrs, to "messages", add prefix, suffix attrs ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2002-10-18 17:29 ------- The backward compatibility issues are understood. I don't propose eliminating the errors tag, just deprecating it. Both tags have the same basic purpose: display messages. Merging the benefits of the errors tag into the messages tag is the way to go. This way, you can declare global markup that allows a simple one liner or you can iterate through messages and insert markup on a page by page basis. Forcing people to iterate through the messages (even for just one message) and insert markup is not a good solution because it's an unreasonable burden. In general, I support tags allowing global defaults and overriding the default with attributes for customization. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:struts-dev-unsubscribe@;jakarta.apache.org> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:struts-dev-help@;jakarta.apache.org>
