Christian,
I too will have to make some time to read the whole thing later,
but I also disagree with your opening comments about Struts being aimed
at "Page Author" types. Using your definitions of "Page Authors" and
"Java Developers", your statement is not biased, it is incorrect.
I would urge you to read the first three sections of the preface to
the User's Guide for a better understanding of the purpose of Struts and
who it is aimed at. While much of the promise of Struts is to remove
programming from the presentation layer of an application, one should
not infer that this means that struts is for less advanced "scripting"
programmers. In fact, the opposite is true. Struts is for programmers
who have the experience to recognize the shortcomings of past java web
application techniques.
