François and all, A visit to Chicago should include a visit to the Adler Planetarium where you may see a Henry Moore (Equatorial) Sundial at least 2 metres in diameter in front of the building. Inside there is an exhibit, "The Universe in Your Hands," that demonstrates, among other things, how sundials work. The Adler also houses the largest collection of Antique Sundials in North America, but one would have to make an appointment to see it. I'm sure other dialists will have other sundials to recommend in the Chicago area. Have a great visit. Bill
