I heard of that Internet time watch, it will have about the same staying power
as the hula hoop or the rubiks cube.
In addition I predict that universal time will not become a
consideration
until matter to energy transport has become common place. Which is to say
NEVER.
Future Martians of course would be even less likely than their
Terrestrial
counterparts to use the internet time. For one thing there is a 10 to 20
minute delay in any signal sent to Mars, double that for the round trip. No
doubt Martian travelers would use their own local time, in fact terminology
has already been developed and used in the recent Pathfinder mission. The
Martian day is called a Sol, and time is reckoned by the sun. Whether the day
is divided into 24 hours or 24.62 hours (the Martian rotation period) is
beyond me.
