making ahaz sundial

Dear list,   Concerning Ahaz Sundial, In the Hebrew Scriptures this sundial is called "ma'alot Ahaz". "Ma'alot" literaly means - degrees or stairs. A few years ago Prof. J . Jadin tried to prove that this sundial was in fact structure with   stairs whose function was to mark the hours. A friend  of mine tried imitating this model but it didn't work. I will be thankful if  anybody  could give me  information how to make such  a 'staircase - sundial'. Sincerely, Ronit Maoz
