subject: seating advise

If you're flying to Tucson for the NASS conference you'll get a great view
of the McMath-Pierce Telescope Sundial at Kitt Peak if you sit on the port
(right) side of the airplane in a window seat towards the front of the
aircraft, away from the wing about 15 minutes before landing. (Most planes
land approaching Tucson from the west. Kitt Peak is the second big mountain
range 40 miles to the southwest of Tucson).

If you approach Tucson from the east you'll fly over the huge new telescope
being built on Mt. Graham about 100 miles to the east of Tucson (sit on
right side). And there are also observatories located on Mt. Hopkins at the
top of the Santa Rita Mountains 50 miles to the south, near Mexico and also
on top of Mt. Lemmon in the Santa Catalina Mountains just north of Tucson.
