Does anyone know whether there are members of this "Sundial Mailing List", in Turkey (Istanbul area) - or maybe sundial enthusiasts, in that region ?
We have been contacted by a person, who wants to install a 'Human Sundial' (or large-scale 'analemmatic' dial), in the Uskudar part of Istanbul - but prefers to have layout plans and instructions in Turkish language (because their English is very weak), or to be put in contact (even just by E-mail) with any person who would be able to give them help in their own language. They want to have a traditional 'one-ring' analemmatic layout, and not the double-ring "Sunclock" version (both Standard & Daylight-Saving) for which our business supplies personalized Layout Plans. Apart from the 'language difficulty', it is not our policy to provide single-ring analemmatic plans to any countries which use Daylight-Saving Time - as doing so could have a significant detrimental effect on our business reputation, so we only sell plans for one-ring dials to places which remain on Standard time all year. If anyone could possibly help with conventional 'analemmatic' layout plans and instructions, in Turkish language - then please contact me (by E-mail) so I can give you full details (Tel/Fax/E-mail) for the person, in Turkey. They can provide the exact Latitude and Longitude co-ordinates, via 'GPS', and will be happy to pay for the time and effort involved in helping them.
