In the UK the companies such as Griffin & George or Philip Harris who supply school laboratories sell small 'plotting compasses' for use in demonstrating the alignment of the magnetic field around e.g. a large bar magnet. I recall using particular items with glass top and bottom for use on an overhead projector. A quick Google search came up with: http://www.griffineducation.co.uk/ Compass plotting Black 14.5mm diameter pack of 50 Griffin Code: XJS-422-U (04) Supplier Code: PLC145X50 Price: £10.70 In stock 12 packs. No doubt there is postage and VAT to pay. There must be equivalent 'school science supply' dealers with similar products elsewhere. Hope this helps Tony Moss -
