Hello All:
In researching SGS, often I come across a sundial that has the latitude and longitude inscribed on it, but I don't know where that is. Assuming I'm lazy and don't want to look it up in my Rand McNally, is there a website where you can type in the latitude and longitude and it will produce a map for you? thanks John C.

Very good question, John!
Most of the on-line mapping engines will accept lat/lon coordinates, but hardly any of them(at least the US-based) make the feature public, or explain how.

Here is an example from Mapquest:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?latlongtype=decimal&latitude=37.277&longitude=-121.966

There is another "type" format for degrees/minutes, but I don't have my notes here right now.
Google maps is also good for this, but I'll have to forward my notes later.

Another source is Maporama.com
Very good for when you want the coordinates of a known address, for example:
http://maporama.com/share/map.asp?SESSIONID=76CB0E85-9CB4-462F-B7CB-58EF1A711253&COUNTRYCODE=US&_XgoGCAddress=609+Craig+Ave&Zip=95008&State=ca&_XgoGCTownName=campbell&SEARCH_ADDRESS.x=25&SEARCH_ADDRESS.y=17&SEARCH_ADDRESS=submit

(Yes, I know it wraps horribly, and needs to be pasted together. Tinyurl.com would simply hide the text you need to see, so...)
