Dear Fellow Dialers, another question: There were found some more erased lines on the vertical dials of the Tower of the Winds in Athens which means that some maintainings in my first analysis of the sundials (in my book on the Greek sundials) must be changed. I am quite satisfied with by new analysis till now, but one line opposes. It is a straight line on the southern dial and goes from the equinoctial line to the date line of the summer solstice crossing the space of the ninth till the 11th hour. While all the other erased lines were compensated by new lines this one not. What was the meaning of that line? I found many explanations but none satisfies me. Therefore I would appreciate if you have an idea or may help by a suggestion. If you want I can send a drawing, Thanks for your help!
