Hello Paul,

Interesting!
I didn't know this existed when we started with 1.3.
It would have made things a bit easier .....I wish I had found this mailing list earlier ;-)
One thing I still don't quite get is the number of different tools Sun has to offer.
In 2000 I started with JASS (http://www.sun.com/software/security/jass/)
Together with Dave Lopata (former Sun employee) we integrated some jumpstart scripts which were very easy to use.
One of those scripts installed the Sunray software in the way I described earlier.
We stayed with this system until now.
But now I am a bit lost.
Sun has JASS, JET, Control Station (they say they will support solaris/sparc in the next version) and there is N1 Grid service provisioning (I just ordered the free developers license).
I am wondering....
What's best to use in a Sunray server environment with say 40+ Sunray servers?
Wouldn't it be easier for Sun to make just one nice tool?

BTW, since you are in the UK (did some checking, nice website) Do you have some info on the Desktop utility roadmap?
Over here in The Netherlands nobody at Sun seems to have information on this but according to some press releases it should be up and running in 2005. My best bet is that if this happens it will most likely be in the UK.

Kind Regards,
Ivar Janmaat
