Personally I haven't really had any issues with NFS on Linux, generally,
our new arch will have a minimum 1TB capacity NetApp filer that will do
NFS for us. Which is the way to go nowadays for NFS needs. The
traditional way of using a server with loads of disk as opposed to a NFS
appliance *maybe* slowly coming to an end.

I think it's great that Sun is supportive of Linux, but I don't think
they should have to rewrite big chunks of it (like NFS).
Well, if Linux's NFS support was worth a damn, there'd be no motivation to
replace it.
There are some parts of Linux that need serious help from "adult" software
developers, and the Linux community would do well to accept that help from
anyone willing to supply it...especially Sun where NFS is concerned, as they
developed it in the first place.
