Naaman,

Thanks for your response. It seems like I am experiencing the "sometimes SRSS will not stop" issue you mention (and the system has been installed according to the Ubuntu wiki page).

By this I mean that I have disabled the save session ability within GNOME, used the customized gdm.conf file, and modified /etc/init.d/ gdm and reset-dpy.

The official word from Sun is not to use GDM. However, if you put in
place the workarounds in the Ubuntu Wiki page, it should allow the
stable use of GDM with SunRay. I have logged a bug on the issue,
however, it is yet to receive a reply - the bug is located at the
GNOME Bugzilla - BugID 326796 -
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326796. The bug is also
logged downstream on the Ubuntu Bug Tracker.

If GDM isn't recommended, then do you have any idea what is (besides dtlogin)? Any one of KDM, XDM, WDM?

Do you think that the GDM provided with SRSS is superior to the Ubuntu version from a stability standpoint?
