Sun has done with with Lucent. Sun Ray 3.1 has enhancements for VOIP as well, but I don't know of any one who's been doing anything other than the Lucent soft phone as that's pretty much what's available for Solaris. Would love to hear your ideas.
Regarding rdesktop + WinTS, that won't work. RDP does not have upstream audio.
