It's a Design Verification Test sample of the second-generation Sun Ray 1. So yes, it's beta hardware. I doubt that Sun would do anything under warranty for a DVT unit that somehow escaped from Sun or from a beta customer but the warranty on a production unit would have expired by now anyway.
