There is a file $HOME/.dt/sessions/lastsession in each user's automounted

Xsession.Sun-gnome-2.0-s94s-2_0_2-08. This file does exist
on this new server, only Xsession.jds and Xsession2.jds, so when the user
tries to login and it does not find the
/usr/dt/config/Xsession.Sun-gnome-2 .0-s94s-2_0_2-08, it
loads CDE instead. Once I created the links, the JDS option appeared and I
was able to load the Gnome/JDS desktop.

This means that you have an old (very old) version of
JDS/Gnome installed on the machine. It looks like it's a
version of JDS left over from a Solaris 9 install.

What does 'pkginfo -l SUNWgnome-session' show? On
S10 11/06 the VERSION should be something similar to
2.6.0,REV=10.0.3.2004.12.21.12.59.
