Hi Otto,

The server IS running Sol10u3 and the latest version of gnome is loaded (see
pkginfo, below). I am upgrading the SRSs from Sol9 to Sol10u3 with SRSS 3.1.
The fileserver for the home directories is running Sol9, hence the
Sun-gnome-2.0-s94s-2_0_2-08 reference in the user's
$HOME/.dt/sessions/lastsession file. I tried replacing
Sun-gnome-2.0-s94s-2_0_2-08 with /usr/dt/config/Xsession.jds in the
lastsession file but it did not work...it still came up with CDE. When I
created the link /usr/dt/config/Sun-gnome-2.0-s94s-2_0_2-08 to use
/usr/dt/config/Xsessoin.jds, it worked!

bash-3.00# pkginfo -l SUNWgnome-session

This means that you have an old (very old) version of
JDS/Gnome installed on the machine. It looks like it's a
version of JDS left over from a Solaris 9 install.

What does 'pkginfo -l SUNWgnome-session' show? On
S10 11/06 the VERSION should be something similar to
2.6.0,REV=10.0.3.2004.12.21.12.59.
