Hi,
Still having no luck with my system after the Feisty upgrade, however after reading about another keyboard issue (see thread: SRSS 3.1.1 and XKB) I thought I'd try a few things....

OK, as mentioned before - GDM screen is fine, once i have logged into Gnome the whole mapping is screwed - the a key is the '2' the d key is '3' - it's that bad.

So, I tried :

utxconfig -k on

Slight success - on both the GDM login screen and Gnome my keyboard works... however the backspace, space enter, left shift key etc. etc. doesn't.

But hey - at least now I can type something!

When I turn utxconfig -k off my keyboard goes bad again.

So, it "looks" like all my users have no utxconfig settings??

Also when I turn utxconfig -k on and log in, I get a warning dialog that says:

-------------------------------------------
The X system keyboard settings differ from your current GNOME keyboard settings.

Expected was model "generic", layout "us" and no options, but the the following settings were found: model "type6_usb", layout "us" and no options

Which set would you like to use?

Use X settings or Keep Gnome settings
-------------------------------------------

Obviously I have a Type6, but mine is gb, not us.
