Subject: Update regarding keyboard problems
This was in response to our local Sun contact.
Is it safe to assume the DTU that is experiencing the loss of the keyboard
input is also equipped with a touch screen?
Yes, this is true, but if we remove the touch screen from the
DTU, the problem still occurs.
When the keyboard isn't responding, does the caps lock light work?
I'm not sure. I'm typing this as I'm test the one on my desk
and the keyboard is working sometimes. Normally, I could only type the "C" and
the "a" of Carl before the keyboard stopped working. This morning, I can type
a few letters, the keyboard stops working, then all of a sudden I can type a
few more. It seems like if I move the mouse at the same time I type, it works.
As soon as I stop moving the mouse, I can no longer type. (And it's not tied
to the mouse because the terminals in the plant don't have mice attached)
Have you swapped out the DTU or does this problem occur with multiple DTUs?
Happens with multiple DTU's. For a while it was only a problem
with one location, but as of this last week, it's become more prevalent.
