I run SRSS on SPARC Solaris 10 but do run OpenSolaris (snv_84 now)
on an x86 notebook.  I use CDE and I'm not sure why you think
dtlogin is gone from Nevada:

The upgrade path from one release to a newer one with nevada is to
do an upgrade install (or intial install).  There are no patches ...
