Is this firmware going to be released with Sun Ray Server 4.1, or is it a
little farther down the line?

The current version of the Sun Ray does the ESP processing (AES/3DES +
SHA-1/MD5 on each packet) in software. It's limited to about 15 Mbps of
throughput. I have prototype firmware that uses the crypto engine that's
part of the Au 1550 processor inside the Sun Ray, and that can do 40-45
Mbps. If you're on a 1 Mbps DSL line, you probably won't notice any
difference in performance, but if you have a higher bandwidth
connection, you will notice a bit of a performance hit.
