lars, that is exactly THE topic. that's the reason why i am asking all this 
questions about utadm and how it actually works internally (i've read the 
manuals and docs, but they don't explain what the command internally does -- 
looking at the utadm script at the moment, actually -- as far as i can see, the 
switching issue could be related to /opt/SUNWut/lib/utauthd, who is listening 
on 7010).

what i do (as a workaround at the moment) is changing the IP addresses via some 
NAT configuration on a linux gateway. i just translate the "wrong" IPs to the 
correct ones. it works, but it is a terrible workaround.

... and, how does the ray server know/decide, which network is the primary and 
which one is the secondary!?

because of that, i'd like to tell the ray server to ignore (never redirect to) 
one of the interfaces.
