Greetings:

I have several Sun Rays with old (1.x) firmware. I know that I need to create a
"filling station" to update their firmware because their current version can't
be updated on a shared subnet.

So, I have done a clean installation of Solaris 10 5/08 and installed SRSS4.1
(also tried 4.0). I have the server and the Sun Ray directly connected into a
hub and there is no router in the system. utadm -a e1000g0 runs but when it
goes to update the DHCP tables, it returns an error 'pntadm: The server address
is not a valid address.'

svcs | grep dhcp says that the DHCP server is online. However, after reboot,
the Sun Ray just sits at the hourglass with two dashes underneath which I
believe means that the Sun Ray is waiting for an IP address.

Have I made a mistake in configuring Solaris or SRSS or is this a bug in
4.0/4.1? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Joe
