Lars: Your suggestion of using utadm -A worked. Thank you very much. This saved my sanity.
I still would like to see if someone on the list could tell me if it is possible to use 'utadm -a' and if it is, how to do it. Its more likely that you have run the "utadm" setup procedure multiple times. Run " utadm -d e1000g0 " to delete the config and check if the DHCP server is still active with "pntadm" it should have been unconfigured as well. If the solaris server only have a singel NIC it is probably better to set up the NIC as a Fixed IP adress with the solaris Installer. And Not Use the DHCP CLIENT when installing Solaris. So if you use 192.168.1.10 as the fixed adress for the NIC in Solaris , even if you don not have a router I would manually point the server to a router with the adress 192.168.1.1 Then when you install SRSS you can do # utadm -A 192.168.1.0 ( note the CAPITAL A ) Do not accept the defaults . set up 192.168.1.10 as both auth and firmware server . select to server IP addresses from the server. Select to start DHCP.
