Hi! do you have any logs when Xnewt crashes? what does /var/opt/SUNWut/log/messages have at that moment? have you tried an earlier version of googleearth?

Unfortunatly I discovered today, that starting googleearth on the new Xnewt causes a segfault in the X server. OK, using google earth on a SunRay might not be a good idea at all but it should not destroy your whole session if you do so (e.g. for testing or by accident). We are running SRSS 4.0 U2 at the moment on a Debian/Etch machine. The hardware is a 8x Opteron 2.6GHz with 32GB Mem from Dell. The test machine is a 4x Opteron 2.4GHz with 16GB Mem from Sun (V40z). Google Earth is used in the newest version available for Linux. On the SRSS 4.0 machine, it runs (slowly but without problems). On the SRSS 4.1 machine it crashed the Xnewt server including the whole session. It does not matter if we start it from local or on a remote machine via ssh with X11 forwarding. Pretty sure, it has something to do with OpenGL but running glxgears works on both. Has anyone similar experiences or even a solution for that problem? -- Patrick Cernko | mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ____________________________________________________________________________________ ¡Todo sobre Amor y Sexo!
