Sorry there was another typo there
Also i dont want to DISABLE direct session access because its a good
security feature on the cards. I could live without it on NSCM sessions.
I understood your meaning, and didn't notice the discrepancy :)
Anyhoo, AMGH seems to be solving all my problems here. How easy would it
be to implement? could i mold my kiosk script to work with AMGH?
No, they're really quite different. They serve different purposes and
are executed by entirely different parts of the system.
The good news is that an AMGH script - particularly one we're talking
about, can be really trivial.
In fact, based on what we've been discussing, I'd say you want the
following AMGH script, configured on all your non-broker FOGs:
-------
#!/bin/sh
echo "use_firstserver=true"
exit 0
-------
:)
This means "Any time you execute a PAM stack (e.g. after logging out of
a session - including Kiosk sessions), if you haven't just been
specifically directed to this FOG via utswitch/utselect, redirect the
Sun Ray to whatever FOG it first connected to when it last powered
on/reset".
Would
you have any sample AMGH setups that i could view?
See /opt/SUNWutref/amgh for sample/reference scripts, and read my blog
at http://blogs.sun.com/bobd.
Also see the ut_amgh_script_interface(3) and utamghadm(1) man pages (in
/opt/SUNWut/man).
Then just use the 3-line script above :)
For some reason thought AMGH was for big multi nationals that had
campuses all around the world :).
If you have multiple groups (FOGs), and you want to automatically direct
Sun Rays between them, then Automatic Multi-Group Hotdesking is for you...
And, as William pointed out, a standalone server is a "FOG" for Sun Ray
intents and purposes.
I'm happy to provide more guidance if you need it after doing your
"homework". It's not just for students :)
