I'm a database guy, multi-threading/parallel processing is life. The point is, just because it's an expensive server doesn't mean it'll be good at everything. Since the first week of January, there are more V440 and V490 SunFires coming off lease and being sold on eBay for decent money. Not that eBay is the best place to buy a server, but it's certainly not a terrible way to get a home network going, especially for people like myself who enjoy tinkering with stuff and don't mind if a personal project takes several months to really gain momentum. But anyway...
