Sun Ray software (Xnewt) only supports Xrandr 1.1.
Perhaps that's the real problem. I'm not sure how Xnest handles things
when the client apps try to use the 1.2 API and the server only supports
1.1.

Sorry, but I probably didn't spell out my problem!
The error occurs always, whatever display I use.
I seems that Xnest doesn't use the Xrandr 1.2 required
by the remote linux box.
I follow your suggestion: I started the DTU in kiosk mode running xterm,
then I
executed the Xnest command to the linux box. I got no success! Same error,
as described below.
Any further suggestion?
Thanks

It may be something simple as you just just need a different display
number. I use a wrapper script that dynamically generates an unused
display number starting above 20. One thing I do to test is to have
my kiosk app be an xterm and then launch Xnest from there.

Hi all,
I configured a Solaris 10 box with SRSS 4.1 + last patch available.
The SunRay DTU is configured in standard mode (not kiosk).
I tried to connect to a CentOS 5.2 Linux desktop with the command:
/usr/openwin/bin/Xnest :5 -pn -geometry 1024x768 -query 192.168.152.69
but it didn'y work beacuse the screen started flashing without
showing the remote
logion screen. All is properly configured (X, gdm, ecc) even in the
remote linux box
and the solaris SRSS.
The linux system logs shows the following error:

The issues occurs ONLY if I try to connect to the linux box from a
SunRay DTU.
On the contrary, if I execute the Xnet command directly from the
Solaris box I
got no error.
Please, can you help me? Is there any workaround?
Thanks in advance
Luigi
