There's a big difference between usage rights and source code license. As I understand it (Sun guys, correct me if I'm wrong), at least when I downloaded SRSS 4.1 back in Dec 2008 (a long time ago, I know... haha) the point of purchasing the licensed seats is for official support (and by association, a live production environment). If we're using it at home for personal use in a small non-production environment, and we don't want support, then the license becomes optional. I'm not aware of anything in the software that enforces the 90-days for this reason.
I thought that the 90-day trial period is for large commercial implementations who are doing acceptance testing or who go live while the purchase orders are still pending or going through. That's just my take on it though. On Wed, Feb 18, 2009 at 7:38 AM, <[email protected]> wrote: > I have actually been a good boy and bought a license, I just didn't know > you _had_ to.
