Hi

After installing the libXfont , issue is still there. When I tried to find
find the gdm process it does not show anything.

-----------------------------------------------------

[r...@sunraybackup sbin]# uname -r

2.6.18-128.1.10.el5xen

[r...@sunraybackup sbin]# uname -o

GNU/Linux

[r...@sunraybackup sbin]#

[r...@sunraybackup sbin]# vi /var/opt/SUNWut/log/messages

[r...@sunraybackup sbin]# ps -ef | grep gdm

root 26714 31994 0 13:29 pts/5 00:00:00 grep gdm

[r...@sunraybackup sbin]# rpm -qa | grep gdm

gdm-2.16.7-2.0_05.sunray

[r...@sunraybackup sbin]#

-----------------------------------------------------

I can not see any error in /var/opt/SUNWut/log/messages. Looks like GDM is
not running properly. I can see the Error message on Sun Ray Client that is
26B. Means unable to present GUI interface.

Hello everyone from the list,

It's my first attempt to answer a question (read a lot to learn things

about the Sun Rays), so forgive me if I'm repeating another one.

I've just setup a CentOS 5.2 (x86_64) and ran into the same problem than

Nadeem Ahmad : X keeps crashing.

The logs for gdm and the X server that it starts is in

/var/log/gdm/:xx.log, with "xx" being the display number started. Sun

Rays normally start at 10.

In my case, I had messages like this one :

/opt/SUNWut/lib/Xnewt: error while loading shared libraries:

libXfont.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

It seems that the default install of CentOS 5.3 does not install

libXfont, you can install it with a :

yum install libXfont

And that solved the problem for me.

Hope this helps,

Didier.
