Good day, I'm getting to grips with the entire Sun Ray infrastructure and doing reasonably well except with the matter of printers attached directly to the Sun Ray device.
***Configuration notes*** 1. Non-PostScript printer (Datamax E-4204) attached directly to the Sun Ray DTU. I have used both its parallel- (via parallel-to-USB adapters) and its USB-interfaces. 2. Sun Ray Connector for Windows OS running in a kiosk mode session 3. Use of uttsc -r 'printer:<print queue name>=<Windows printer driver name>' in the kiosk mode configuration to send a Windows TS session to the DTU ***Issue*** While ... the print queue shows properly in the Windows session. And ... the jobs spool to the print queue (as witnessed by lpq <print queue name> on the Sun Ray server) .... jobs de-spool to the parallel-interfaced printers only sporadically, remaining in the queue. They de-spool to USB-interfaced printers but do not print out at all. ***Troubleshooting*** svcadm restart print/server:default lpc disable <print queue name>; lpc enable <print queue name> ...but these troubleshooting steps have not been successful. I note the posting at http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg09715.html. I assume that this refers to the configuration item on the Windows printer and will be trying this out tomorrow. Can anyone share his/her experience in this situation? Sincerely, Etienne Ing. Etienne V.
