The 6530 is going to be the only challenging piece. There is a product called
"PowerTerm" that will do the 6530 emulation that your Tandem guys will be happy
with.

For the rest, use the native apps and functionality as Dave has mentioned below.

Disclaimer - I have nothing to do with the company that makes "PowerTerm".

Most of the stuff you're talking about is a no-brainer in the UNIX
world.

Comes with Solaris...open a terminal window and use ssh or
telnet. This is the native "real thing", no "emulation" is necessary.

I don't know about this one, but surely there's a free one out
there. It's not THAT obscure.

For 3270 or 5250 protocol? For 3270, the x3270/c3270 package
works great under Solaris, I use it all the time on Sun Rays. It has
been in widespread use for many years. It is free. It can be found
here:

   I haven't had a need for 5250 so I haven't used this myself, but
this package is free and runs under Solaris:

For running X apps?? Solaris systems implement that functionality
natively...there's no need for such software, X apps will "just
work". They'll work better, in fact, than using something like
Exceed, as this is the way they were designed to work in the first
place...again, no "emulation" necessary, as you're running "the real
thing".

Looks nice, but it's commercial and costs $159 per seat...why pay
for something when there's been free stuff out there for decades
which does the same job, and probably does it better? This is the
way most things have been done in the UNIX world since day one.

So, basically, with the possible exception of the Tandem stuff
(and I just haven't researched that), much of what you need is
already built into Solaris, and you can get everything else for free.

Feel free to contact me directly if you need assistance
implementing any of those systems.
