In the last couple of years, USB worked quite well for SRSS on Ubuntu/Debian. I also think he refers to the wiki at <http://wiki.sun-rays.org/index.php/How_To_Section>, not the one at <http://wikis.sun.com/display/SRSS4dot2/Home> Jacques-Olivier: I am the guy who wrote most of the "SRSS on Debian" stuff on the wiki. At the moment I am quite busy and can't play with SRSS4.2 before January. But some weeks ago I installed an "SRSS4.2 early access 1" on Debian without bigger problems. I would guess that SRSS4.2 on Ubuntu 9.10 will work following the same steps as for SRSS4.1 on Ubuntu 9.04. Start with installing the legacy gdm package: "apt-get install gdm-2.20" (The newer gdm does not yet work with SRSS). Also, have a look at this bug: <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm-2.20/+bug/445256> I assume that you understand that all this stuff with SRSS on Ubuntu/Debian/... is community work, totally unsupported by and independent of Sun. But it's fun when it works!
