Hi guys,

I have a question put forward to me by a friend very much interested in investing in Sun Ray infrastructure for his office and also spreading the Sun Ray model and word throughout SMB's and SOHO's.

Basically the question is: Is the Sun Ray capable of running Adobe's Creative Suite 4 Master collection??

I don't know much about MS Win stuff or the programs that run on the platform, however I have quickly Google'd before writing this just so that I had an idea of what it actually was and what is included in it!

Basically I'm a bit concerned myself as I am fully aware of the Sun Ray's poor video and 3D performance so I really wanted to check here before actually going and designing a working Sun Ray infrastructure for the network in question. I am not really certain that the Ray will be able to handle 3D graphic design or video animation for flash etc.....

My knowledge of Sun Ray performance is quite limited due to only having a Ray 1 client at home running over a wireless bridged network, using a Sun Enterprise 420r server with 4 x 450MHz CPU running SXCE as the SRSS server. Basically meaning that using a Ray 2, 2FS, or 270 client and proper machine; say dual Xeon with 8GB+ RAM, I have no idea at the power increase over my limited setup! I do know however that the Ray's still only have 2D accelerated graphics and with addition of SRSS5 should have better improved multimedia performance, but just by how much I do not know :-)

Can someone please give me some advice or an opinion on this matter so that I can give my friend a translated response as he doesn't have any English???

Many thanks in advance!
