Depends on your patch policy.  We patch only on fault, with the
exception of security patches which get installed only if they're
applicable to a given system and any workarounds are unacceptable.

With such a policy and Solaris, it is often years before a reboot is
necessary.  Very often, when we do get around to it the reason for
rebooting a system is completely unrelated to the software but due to
some environmental requirement (power failure/cooling failure/whatever).

Specifically on Sun Ray, we've run a FOG with over 100 DTUs for over 14
months without needing to do anything to it whatsoever, with the
exception of a recent security patch for which we just did a "utrestart
-c", not a reboot.  These are kiosked browsers locked to one web site
though, not users getting up to their usual mischief.

So basically, if you haven't identified a need to reboot, don't bother.
When that need exists will depend chiefly on your patch policy and how
many security issues are of concern in your environment.
