I'm glad to see someone using smarcards :), but it's very bad, that nobody tryed to fix it or even asked me for some additional information about this case for a month. The problem lies with SRWC. Running PC/SC daemon in debug mode (pcscd -f -d) confirms, that SRWC doesn't ask PC/SC for smartcard credentials (rdesktop does!)with win2k8.
