Nik,
I'm seeing something different: W2K8 is prompting me for a PIN [and the card
reader light blinks] which indicates it's at least reading *something*. The
extra twist is if I enter the wrong PIN, it tells me so.
I theorized from the beginning that it was SRWC-related because of the
following:
SRSS SRWC PCSC Windows Result
4.1 2.1 1.1_Experimental W2K8 Success
4.2 2.2 1.1_Experimental W2K8 Failure
The only variable that changed was SRSS/SRWC, not PCSC.
Could you elaborate on how you're starting up pcscd?
root 15944 1 0 Jan 13 ? 0:01 /usr/lib/smartcard/pcscd -L
Are you just killing the standard pcscd and launching it like so:
/usr/lib/smartcard/pcscd -L -f -d
And where is the debug feedback going?
Thanks.
Scott

I'm glad to see someone using smarcards :), but it's very bad, that nobody
tryed to fix it or even asked me for some additional information about this
case for a month.
The problem lies with SRWC. Running PC/SC daemon in debug mode (pcscd -f -d)
confirms, that SRWC doesn't ask PC/SC for smartcard credentials (rdesktop
does!)with win2k8.
